Compliance Manager (LIHTC, HUD)

Job Description

Multifaceted real estate development and property management company with a reputation of proven success is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager responsible for a portfolio of 10 properties (LIHTC, HUD, market rate, and commercial) across 5 states. The Compliance Manager will be reporting to the Treasurer/CFO and taking a leading role in interacting with the property management companies on the LIHTC, HUD, and financial reporting as well as the audits.

 Yardi -

·         Monitor Yardi RightSource compliance reporting.

·         Responsible for user training and troubleshooting, including Yardi case management.

·         Setup/maintain all users and properties in Yardi, RentCafe and CRM and update users in Yardi One.

·         Manage the Payment processing Banking Portal in Client Central, adding new users as needed.

·         Implement / maintain Yardi New Applications and Interfaces when needed. 

·         Arrange for all Yardi Plugins to be installed when needed on throughout the system.

 

Compliance -

·         Setup/maintain all users and properties in Yardi RightSource, including training, troubleshooting and case management.

·         Reviews all Move ins and recertifications, post rent and HAP and submit Vouchers.

·         Monitor progress of recerts monthly.

·         Monitor status of AR’s at month end.

·         Post Move ins and Move outs.

 

Accounting -

·         Review property financials monthly and provide adjusting entries to management company

·         Month end account reconciliations/analysis and financial statement preparation.

·         Manage annual financial audit preparation.

·         Assist in compiling and standardizing financials distributed in quarterly investor reports

·         Manage property level audits and ensure interim testing is completed prior to each audit season

·         Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to IDHA, OFA, HUD, etc.

·         Prepare property budgets.

·         Bank reconciliations.

·         Monitor property dashboards daily.

·         Biweekly check runs, posting recurring payables, management invoices, etc.

·         Manage rent increases, security deposit transfers, deposit accounting for all move outs.

·         Review AR status of all certifications, work with third party on collection of bad debt.

·         CAM and utility billing.

·         Manage Rentpayment.com & Profit Star.

·         Monitor Rentgrow invoices.   

·         Manage the payment processing banking portal in Client Central.

·         Prepare year end 1099s.

·         Responsible for managing any ad-hoc projects as needed.

 

Qualification - 

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related emphasis.

·         10+ years of compliance experience, including 5 years of LIHTC management.

·         Strong Yardi experience required.

·         High attention to detail and problem solving.

·         Excellent judgment and decision-making, interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and                successfully meet deadlines.
