Job Description


Seeking a motivated, team-oriented Property Accountant to join a growing multifamily real estate investment, development, and property management firm. The company owns approximately $500 million in real estate across eleven states throughout the United States. The Property Accountant will be reporting to the Controller and taking a leading role in interacting with the property management companies on the property financial reporting as well as the audits and tax returns.





·         Review property financials monthly and provide adjusting entries to management company

·         Assist in compiling and standardizing financials distributed in quarterly investor reports

·         Manage quarterly or semiannual waterfall distribution calculations

·         Provide support to management companies with opening journal entries from settlement statements

·         Manage property level audits, tax returns, and cost certifications, ensure interim testing is completed prior to each audit season

·         Responsible for managing any ad-hoc projects as needed

·         Prioritize assignments, effectively manage time and meet deadlines





·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

·         5+ years of experience working in the field of accounting or finance

·         Skilled with Yardi, Realpage and/or Resman

·         Strong LIHTC accounting, organizational and analytical skills

·         Ultra-high attention to detail, problem solver & intellectually curious

·         Ability to handle shifting and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

·         Excellent judgment and decision-making, interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and successfully meet deadlines

·         Experience reading and interpreting limited partnership agreements, loan documents and regulatory agreements

·         The ability to be a team player but be able to work independently
