Job Description

What You Can Expect To Do

  • Assist with driving asset performance, generate, and execute strategic asset plans; strategically manage property cash flow, and major repair and maintenance capital improvements.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each property and its challenges, assess implementation of strategic initiatives, assess operational and management performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate and manage strategic capital improvement plans carried out by general contractors and third-party vendors. 
  • Forge strong relationships with operating partners to proactively work through challenges and communicate concerns up internal and external chains of command when expectations are not being met.
  • Analyze and ensure the integrity of monthly and quarterly property-level financial statements vs. budget or proforma.
  • Creation and implementation of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • With the support of our Compliance team, monitor compliance requirements and deadlines across multiple government agencies and programs.
  • Maintain terms of partnership agreements, loan documents, regulatory agreements and various property agreements.
  • Coordinate communications and manage requests from investors, lenders, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Support our Construction Services and Acquisitions teams with ad-hoc coordination and communication as needed.
  • Conduct frequent physical inspections of each asset and its competitive market in the portfolio.

What You Should Have

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related fields
  • 7-8 years of experience with real estate asset management and finance
  • Operational experience with financial reporting and managing equity investments, in essential housing
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex data and present solutions
  • Effective communication and presentation skills to work effectively with and present to a broad range partners, agencies and third-party managers
  • Ambition, a strong desire to learn, to achieve, a history of career advancement
  • Organizational skills; the ability to manage your time, focus and communicate with clarity
  • A sense of urgency, an internal clock that helps you move with purpose and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • The ability to travel as needed
