Privately held investment firm with national portfolio of 7,500 units focused primarily on investments in the affordable housing industry is seeking a President for their property management operations. Responsibilities include:
Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of 175 employees.
- Must excel in team building and coaching.
- Develop and mentor the property management leadership team.
Growth and assimilation of property management companies
- Analyze and review systems and software to insure efficiency and scalability
- Align property management operations to reduce redundancies and fill gaps
- Develop a strategy for growth and expansion through acquisition, as well as third party property management services
Risk Management
- Assess and manage the risk exposure of the management company
- Maintain and develop policies and procedures to mitigate risk
Profitability
- Manage portfolio for maximum economic impact
- Oversee portfolio and company budgeting process
- Must have a keen understanding of financial reporting and accounting procedures
- Work with leadership and asset management to develop and monitor 5-10 year portfolio needs assessments/capital improvements program
Communication
- Report directly to the CEO
- Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with corporation management, property owners, vendors, lenders, state and federal agency contacts, and corporation board of advisors
Qualifications:
- BS required, advanced degree preferred
- 15+ years of progressive affordable housing operations experience, experience in multiple states preferred
- 10+ years of proven supervisory experience with similar size organizations
- Experience integrating entities through acquisition preferred
- RE sales/broker license a plus
